Washing Instructions – CHOYCE
CHOYCE works with a wide range of pure and designer fabrics to bring you elegant creations that are graceful and versatile. Since many of our pieces include mixed fabrics or intricate work, we always recommend following the specific washing instructions below. When in doubt, it’s a good idea to test-wash a small fabric sample first. Or feel free to reach out to us for guidance.
Note: For any fabric with embroidery, foil, or other surface work – especially on the shirt, dupatta, or bottom – please consult us if you are unsure. Proper care ensures long life and beauty of your outfit.
1. Hand Block Fabrics
- Dry clean the first 2 times to maintain color and texture.
- Afterward, hand wash separately in cold water – slight bleeding is normal initially.
- For premium fabrics like Chanderi, Silk, Organza with hand block, dry cleaning is strongly recommended.
2. Cotton
- Always hand wash cotton in cold water – it may bleed in warm water.
- Dyed cotton bottoms should be dry cleaned twice before switching to home wash.
- If dyed cotton is used as shirt piping or highlight, dry clean the shirt too.
- Natural dyed cotton is always dry clean only (will be tagged).
- Avoid drying in direct sunlight to prevent shrinkage.
3. Chanderi
- Pure Chanderi should always be dry cleaned – it’s lightweight and sheer.
- Poly Chanderi can be machine washed with care.
- Foil print Chanderi should never be brushed – it may damage the foil motifs.
4. Chiffon
- Delicate and sheer – dry clean for first use to preserve color.
- Viscose Chiffon can be hand washed in cold water, but never twisted or squeezed.
- Poly Chiffon is safe for machine wash.
5. Georgette
- Hand wash in cold water with a mild detergent.
- Air dry in the shade – avoid sunlight to retain softness.
6. Crepe
- Silk Crepe requires dry cleaning only – it's high maintenance.
- Polyester Crepe can be hand or machine washed.
7. Kota Doria
- Poly Kota Doria can be hand or machine washed.
- Foil Kota Doria should be handled delicately – no brushing on motifs.
8. Linen
- Linen should only be dry cleaned.
- Regular washing may damage the weave and softness of the fabric.
9. Modal Satin
- Viscose Modal Satin (expensive variant) should be dry cleaned only.
- Low-cost variant (under ₹399) can be hand washed gently in cold water.
- Never squeeze, twist, or wring – yarns are delicate.
- Poly Hand Block Satin must be washed separately in cold water.
- Always dry in shade – avoid direct sunlight.
10. Rayon
- Hand wash is preferred to maintain shape and sheen.
- Avoid squeezing or wringing – fibers may break.
11. Satin
- Poly Satin can be machine washed.
- Other variants should be hand washed with care.
- Do not squeeze or twist – treat gently for best results.
12. Muslin
- Basic hand wash is suitable for muslin fabrics.
- Handle gently – avoid wringing, as the fabric is delicate and may fray.
13. Silk
- Dry clean only – silk is a luxury fabric and deserves premium care.
- Home wash can damage the texture, shine, and structure.
14. Chinnon
- Dry clean the first 1–2 times to maintain its flow and shine.
- If home washing later, use gentle cold water hand wash.
- Do not squeeze or wring – yarns are delicate and can fray.
- Dry in shade only – avoid direct sunlight to preserve the sheen.
- Use a garment steamer instead of a hot iron to avoid fabric marks.
